Are you passionate about interior design with a vision that extends beyond the four walls of a home?

We are looking for a creative, proactive In-House Designer to join our team in a dynamic, split-focus role. You will be the bridge between a customer’s vision and their reality, primarily focusing on transforming their interior spaces with our premium Bathrooms, Wall Panels, and Flooring, while also taking that inspiration outside to collaborate on exterior projects.

The Role

This is a varied, customer-facing role where design meets sales. Based at our retail counter, your primary responsibility will be consulting with customers to design and sell high-value bathroom projects and interior solutions. Alongside managing your own sales and designs, you will act as a crucial support bridge, working with our External Project Specialist to bring outdoor spaces (Decking, Fencing, and Cladding) to life on screen.

Key Responsibilities:

End-to-End Bathroom Sales: Manage the full sales cycle for retail and trade customers. You will take the initial brief, specify the correct sanitaryware, brassware, and wall panels, manage high-value quotes, and confidently close the sale.
Consultative Design Appointments: Conduct in-depth, one-on-one design consultations. You will navigate spatial constraints and use Virtual Worlds to help customers visualize their new bathroom layouts, using your designs to overcome objections and secure the order.
Customer Engagement: Proactively approach customers on the retail floor, qualifying leads and inviting them to use our professional design service for both inside and outside their home.
Technical Product Expertise: Provide highly knowledgeable advice on our core interior products. You must understand the practicalities of bathroom design (e.g., plumbing compatibility, enclosure specifications) while maintaining a solid working knowledge of our exterior ranges.
External Project Collaboration: Work closely with our External Project Specialist to draft 3D layouts in SketchUp, transforming their site measurements and estimates into visual renders that help secure decking and exterior cladding sales.
Holistic Design: Help customers bridge the gap between their indoor aesthetics and outdoor spaces, ensuring a cohesive design flow from the bathroom to the garden.

What We’re Looking For

The ideal candidate thrives in a split role, balancing technical design skills across different software platforms with a friendly, commercially-minded personality.

Sales & Industry Experience: Proven experience in consultative, high-ticket sales within the DIY/home improvement industry. A strong background in bathroom components, layouts, and specification is essential.
Software Proficiency: Previous experience using interior design software (like Virtual Worlds) to close sales is required. Experience with SketchUp for drafting exterior layouts is highly desirable to support our external specialist.
Design Flair & Problem Solving: A keen eye for aesthetics, spatial planning, and the technical logic to ensure a design actually works in the real world.
Communication: Comfortable approaching customers, confidently "selling" the value of our design services, and collaborating seamlessly with our external sales specialists.

Position Details

Type: Part-Time / Full-Time
Schedule: 5 days per week (Monday – Saturday).
Weekend Work: A rolling Saturday rota is in place to ensure fair coverage.
Training: We provide full training on our SAP B1 system to ensure you have the technical tools to process your sales, manage your quotes, and succeed.

Pay: From £15.00 per hour
