Full job description

Job Summary:

We are seeking a dynamic Assistant Manager to join our team at our hotel in South Shields. The role will be a live-in position offering free accommodation at the hotel. The ideal candidate will assist the hotel manager in overseeing the daily operations of the Hotel & Cafe with proven experience in Housekeeping and Cafe Operations,ensuring exceptional guest experiences and efficient management of resources with having strong background and experience in hospitality industry.

Responsibilities:

- Comfortable in rolling up the sleeves and provide exceptional service in all aspects of hotel and cafe i.e Housekeeping and Front of House

- Assisting Hotel Manager in day to day operations of Hotel and Cafe and keeping seamless communication with the Head Office

- Be available as the first point of contact and responder to any customer issues at nights

- Managing all the booking platforms efficiently and having strong grip on hotel and cafe related IT platforms and OTAs

- Act as second in line to staff across various departments of hotel and cafe, ensuring high standards of service delivery and taking the lead on finding improvement areas

- Assist the manager in managing human resources functions such as recruitment, training, and performance evaluations

- Act as a strong team player ready to fill in the boots in absence of any other team member

- Coordinate with different departments to ensure smooth functioning of all hotel and cafe services

- Handle guest concerns and provide resolutions promptly to maintain guest satisfaction

- Monitor hotel facilities to ensure they meet health and safety regulations

Requirements:

- Proven experience in Housekeeping and Cafe Waiter/Waitress roles within the hospitality industry

- Strong understanding of hotel operations, guest services, and hospitality industry standards
