Job overview

Join our Safeguarding Team as a Safeguarding Facilitator, playing a vital role in protecting vulnerable patients and supporting high-quality care delivery. Working within a dedicated Safeguarding Hub, you will coordinate and process safeguarding referrals, ensuring they are accurate, timely, and aligned with best practice. This is a highly collaborative role, involving close working with internal teams and external agencies to promote patient safety and wellbeing.

You will contribute to a culture of safeguarding excellence by supporting staff, promoting Think Family principles, and ensuring sensitive information is handled with professionalism and care. This role offers the opportunity to develop specialist knowledge in safeguarding, work across multi-agency pathways, and make a meaningful impact on patient outcomes. It is ideal for someone organised, detail-focused, and confident working both independently and as part of a wider team.

Main duties of the job

Facilitate the accurate and timely processing of safeguarding referrals for children and adults, ensuring high-quality submissions to relevant agencies.
Review and cross-reference safeguarding information (e.g. Adastra) to ensure completeness and accuracy of patient data.
Liaise with local authorities, social services, and partner agencies to support effective multi-agency safeguarding processes.
Manage safeguarding-related administration, including incidents, complaints, audits, reports, data entry, and information requests.
Maintain and monitor safeguarding records, email inbox, and referral outcomes to support reporting, trends, and audit requirements.
Provide guidance and feedback to staff on safeguarding processes, promoting best practice and Think Family principles.
Escalate concerns appropriately and contribute to team meetings, training, and continuous professional development.

Experience

Essential criteria

Educated to GCSE standard
Previous healthcare administrative/ record keeping experience
Ability to communicate effectively with patients, healthcare professionals and other stakeholders over the telephone
Good IT proficiency in Microsoft Office packages
Good organisation and administrative skills
Ability to reprioritise work as required
Good attention to detail
A team orientated approach and willingness to support colleagues
Demonstrates initiative and a problem-solving approach to issues that arise
Remain calm under pressure
A flexible can-do approach to work

Desirable criteria

Experience managing data access requests
Experience with Adastra administration
Proficient in Microsoft and IT systems / adaptable IT capabilities
Knowledge of RADAR/Adastra/SystmOne/EMIS
Previous safeguarding experience
Level 2 and 3 safeguarding training
Evidence of higher-level study; including A-levels / NVQ / Diploma
