The Data Analyst will support the development, implementation, maintenance and continuous improvement of a robust reporting, assurance reporting and outcomes framework for Walsall Together which is consistent with the organisations and its partner’s objectives and plans .
This will include effective reporting systems at all levels of the various organisations in ways that support clear accountability and encourage achievement of all key targets whether externally or internally set .
The role will involve direct communication and liaison with operational leads and senior managers across the organisation. To build effective relationships and work with the operational team to build a picture of performance and to understand how this links to the information provided.
Ensure that all internal and external performance reports that are produced represent an accurate reflection of performance and meet timescales imposed, analysing and interpreting the information where necessary.
T o maintain and continually assess performance reporting and monitoring processes, ensuring that they remain fit for purpose. Lead on the development of an ongoing monitoring system utilising national benchmarking data to inform service transformation. To support and ensure that contractual performance is robustly monitored and communicated across the organisation and that plans are in place to underpin performance improvements.
To use a range of descriptive and analytical statistical techniques influence managers and senior leaders through tools.
Development of performance dashboards and reports, benchmarking routine monitoring of KPl’s, and outcome measures
To establish and maintain strong relationships acting as a point of contact for queries.
To establish and maintain strong relationships with other stake holder support teams acting as a point of contact for queries and liaising regarding any relevant data.

Support the organisation implementing new systems i.e. validating data migration, testing data extracts.
To assist with data analysis supporting the Walsall Together programme, using knowledge and experience in statistics and epidemiology to provide in-depth analysis and reporting.
Undertake deep dive and longitudinal analysis to understand the impact of initiatives.
Ensure that statutory returns are prepared in accordance with Government requirements.
Walsall Healthcare NHS Trust is an integrated Trust and the only provider of NHS acute care in Walsall, serving a population of 284,300. It provides inpatient and outpatient services at the Manor Hospital as well as a wide range of services in the community. Walsall Manor houses the full range of district general hospital services under one roof. The £170 million development was completed in 2010, and ongoing upgrades ensure the Trust now has state-of-the-art facilities, including a Critical Care Unit, Neonatal Unit, Obstetric Theatre, and Integrated Assessment Unit. The Data Analyst ensures information is accurate, timely, and meaningful, helping teams and senior leaders understand performance, meet targets, and make informed decisions. The role also involves working collaboratively across the partnership, maintaining effective reporting systems, and continuously improving how data is used to drive better outcomes.

The post holder is responsible for ensuring data is collected timely from a variety of sources. The role will involve direct communication and liaison with operational leads and senior managers across the organisation. To build effective relationships and work with the operational team to build a picture of performance and to understand how this links to the information provided.
The post holder will ensure that all internal and external performance reports that are produced represent an accurate reflection of performance and meet timescales imposed, analysing and interpreting the information where necessary. The post holder will assist and deputise, where appropriate, Assistant Director of IT Strategy & Walsall Together IT Digital Lead including presenting data at relevant meetings.

The post holder will work closely with the wider performance and information teams across all stakeholders to ensure performance management and all reporting is robustly delivered. To support and ensure that contractual performance is robustly monitored and communicated across the organisation and that plans are in place to underpin performance improvements.
Whilst reporting to the Assistant Director of IT Strategy & Walsall Together IT Digital Lead, the post holder is expected within clearly defined boundaries and with minimal supervision, to use their own initiative to develop and innovate services, working closely with colleagues as required in order to deliver key business objectives.
Main Responsibilities
- Support the Assistant Director of IT Strategy & Walsall Together IT Digital Lead and wider organisation by ensuring all commissioner/ contract KPI deadlines are met, preventing the organisation from breaching timescales and incurring reputational and financial penalties.
- Encourage collaborative working to improve performance and establish positive relationships. Use these relationships to ensure that a fully comprehensive picture of performance is incorporated in any report.
- To lead in ensuring robust processes are in place to monitor key areas, including contract indicators.
- To be responsible for benchmarking performance and advising teams/ directorates on opportunities for improving.
- To use a range of descriptive and analytical statistical techniques. There will also be a requirement to influence managers and senior leaders through the use of narrative and graphical tools that explain the data and its consequences.
- To support Walsall Together with designing and managing a range of complex performance systems. This will include supporting the development of performance dashboards and performance reports, routine monitoring of KPl’s, and development of outcome measures to support the planning process. This may also include working with colleagues on complex integrated performance systems.
- To establish and maintain strong relationships with the operational teams, acting as a point of contact for performance related queries.
