Job summary
At Fareham Community Mental Health Team (CMHT) we are looking for a dynamic and confident Team Secretary to join our admin team.
The main focus of the job is to be Medical Secretary to the Consultant Psychiatrist. This involves arranging appointments, telephone calls to patients and other professionals, minuting meetings including weekly multidisciplinary team (MDT) and following up on tasks afterwards, assisting with prescription requests and typing letters using Big Hand. As part of the admin team you will also be expected to assist your team by covering reception and helping with other admin tasks that the team require.
Excellent skills in IT and microsoft packages is required. A friendly approachable personality is welcomed. You will be responsible for your workload.
We work with adults who have severe and enduring mental health issues, providing support to them in the community.

Main duties, tasks & skills required
Produce letters from audio and handwritten notes, also reports to a high standard of accuracy
Book assessments and appointments, liaising with clinical staff
Comprehensive efficient secretarial support to the Consultant psychiatrist and wider team; handling correspondence, processing referrals, telephone enquiries
Organise meetings and minute, distributing these once typed
Assist in data collection for audits, reports, service performance
Receive telephone calls and correspondence from patients which you are responsible for dealing with whilst remaining calm and professional
Liaise with other professionals from this team and others
Update and add information to patients electronic notes and databases
Adhere to all statutory and mandatory training
Flexibility to assist in cross covering the duties of your colleagues as they will do for you
When appropriate, identify and escalate matters to senior management
