Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Porter to support our busy kitchen team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in maintaining cleanliness and organisation within the kitchen environment, ensuring smooth operations and high standards of hygiene. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in developing their skills within the hospitality industry, including food preparation, cooking, and general kitchen duties.

Duties

Wash, clean, and sanitise dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment efficiently
Assist with basic food preparation tasks as directed by chefs or kitchen supervisors
Maintain cleanliness of work surfaces, floors, and storage areas to meet health and safety standards
Support the organisation of stock and ingredients within the kitchen storage areas
Dispose of waste responsibly and ensure recycling procedures are followed
Assist with setting up dining areas and clearing tables during service times when required
Follow all health and safety regulations to ensure a safe working environment for all staff

Requirements

Previous experience in a restaurant, hotel, or hospitality setting is advantageous but not essential as training will be provided
Knowledge of food hygiene standards and safety procedures is desirable
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
Willingness to learn new skills related to food preparation and kitchen operations
Good organisational skills and ability to work as part of a team
Flexibility to work shifts as required, including evenings and weekends if necessary
