Job Overview

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Housekeeping Assistant to join our dynamic team! In this vital role, you will be responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment across our care home. Your energetic approach and commitment to excellence will ensure that every space meets high standards of cleanliness and hygiene, creating a positive experience for staff, visitors, and clients alike. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a well-organized and pristine environment while developing your skills in commercial cleaning and janitorial services.

Responsibilities

Cleaning resident bedrooms, bathrooms, and communal areas to a high standard.
Perform thorough cleaning of all designated areas, including offices, hallways, restrooms, and common spaces, ensuring they are spotless and well-maintained.
Use appropriate cleaning tools and supplies to carry out tasks efficiently and safely.
Restock supplies such as paper towels, soap dispensers, and toilet paper to ensure continuous availability.
Follow established health and safety protocols during all cleaning activities to prevent accidents or contamination.
Maintaining infection prevention and control procedures.
Ensuring cleaning equipment and materials are used safely and stored correctly.
Replenishing supplies such as toiletries, soap, and cleaning products.
Reporting maintenance issues, hazards, or concerns to the appropriate person.
Supporting a positive and friendly environment for residents and visitors.

Requirements

Proven experience in health care cleaning or janitorial work is preferred.
Ability to perform physical tasks such as standing, bending, lifting, and moving equipment for extended periods.
Strong attention to detail with a commitment to maintaining high cleanliness standards.
Excellent time management skills to complete assigned tasks efficiently within scheduled hours.
Good communication skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Knowledge of proper cleaning chemicals and safety procedures is advantageous.
Flexibility to work various shifts as required by the facility’s operational hours.
