Job Overview

Join our dynamic culinary team as a Kitchen Porter/Kitchen Assistant, where your energy and dedication will help keep our kitchen running smoothly and efficiently. In this vital role, you will support the culinary operation by maintaining cleanliness, assisting with food preparation, and ensuring all kitchen areas meet high standards of hygiene and safety. This position offers an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced hospitality environment, perfect for those passionate about food, cooking, and delivering exceptional service.

Responsibilities

Maintain cleanliness of all kitchen areas, including floors, surfaces, utensils, and equipment to ensure a hygienic environment.
Assist with basic food preparation tasks such as chopping vegetables or assembling ingredients under supervision.
Support chefs and kitchen staff with ingredient organization and stock replenishment to ensure smooth service flow.
Wash dishes, pots, pans, and kitchen tools efficiently while adhering to health and safety standards.
Dispose of waste responsibly and ensure recycling procedures are followed diligently.
Help with setting up dining areas or serving stations when needed to support restaurant or hotel service operations.
Follow all health and safety regulations meticulously to maintain a safe working environment for everyone.

Qualifications

Previous experience in a restaurant, hotel, or hospitality setting is preferred but not essential; enthusiasm and willingness to learn are key.
Basic knowledge of food preparation techniques and kitchen hygiene standards.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
Strong teamwork skills with a positive attitude towards supporting colleagues.
Good physical stamina to stand for long periods and perform manual tasks such as lifting or moving items.
Familiarity with hospitality or culinary environments is advantageous but not mandatory; training will be provided for the right candidate.

Pay: £12.71-£20.15 per hour
