Full job description

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Head Chef to lead our culinary team. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive culinary expertise, and a deep understanding of food safety standards. As Head Chef, you will oversee all aspects of kitchen operations, from food preparation to team management, ensuring the delivery of high-quality dishes that meet our standards and delight our customers. This role offers an exciting opportunity to showcase your creativity and organisational skills within a dynamic hospitality environment.

Responsibilities

Lead and supervise the kitchen team, ensuring efficient workflow and high standards of food production.
Oversee all aspects of food preparation, cooking, and presentation to maintain consistency and quality.
Manage menu development in collaboration with management, incorporating seasonal ingredients and innovative ideas.
Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain cleanliness standards throughout the kitchen.
Monitor stock levels, order supplies, and control wastage to optimise operational efficiency.
Train and mentor junior staff, fostering a positive team environment focused on professional growth.
Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service delivery and customer satisfaction.
Maintain accurate records of food costs, waste, and inventory for reporting purposes.

Qualifications

Proven experience in a supervisory culinary role within a busy restaurant or hospitality setting.
Extensive knowledge of food production, preparation techniques, and presentation skills.
Strong leadership qualities with the ability to manage and motivate a diverse team.
Excellent understanding of food safety standards and regulations.
Demonstrated capability in menu planning, cost control, and stock management.
Previous experience in hospitality or restaurant environments is highly desirable.
Exceptional organisational skills with the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced setting.
Passion for culinary arts with a creative approach to cuisine development.

Pay: £35,000.00 per year
