Deputy Manager – Widnes Hall Care Home
Location: Widnes, Cheshire
Hours: 42 hours per week, working 12-hour shifts on a 3 on / 3 off rolling rota
Salary: £35,000 per annum
Contract Type: Permanent, Full Time

You’ll work alongside the Home Manager to ensure our residents receive the highest standard of person-centred care while leading, developing, and inspiring a dedicated care team.

Widnes Hall is a welcoming, purpose-built care home set in a peaceful residential area of Widnes, Cheshire. Our home provides exceptional residential and dementia care, with beautifully landscaped gardens, thoughtfully designed communal spaces, and a vibrant community atmosphere. At Widnes Hall, our compassionate team is dedicated to enriching the lives of residents through high-quality care, dignity, and respect.

About the Role

As Deputy Manager, you will:

Lead and support the care team to deliver person-centred care in line with Anchor’s standards and Care Quality Commission (CQC) requirements.
Oversee staff rotas, ensuring appropriate skill mix and staffing levels to meet residents’ assessed needs.
Manage and complete audits, care plans, medication processes, and risk assessments to maintain the highest standards of care and compliance.
Coach, mentor, and develop colleagues, fostering a positive and collaborative culture where everyone can thrive.
Maintain excellent communication with residents and their families, ensuring that residents’ needs and preferences are always at the heart of the care provided.
Deputise for the Home Manager in their absence, ensuring continuity of outstanding service.

What We’re Looking For

A motivated and compassionate leader with previous experience in a care setting.
Either an experienced Team Leader looking to progress or a Deputy Manager seeking a new opportunity.
Strong knowledge of safeguarding, CQC regulations, and care planning.
Excellent people management and organisational skills, with the ability to adapt to changing priorities.
A commitment to delivering exceptional, customer-focused care with meticulous attention to detail.
Relevant qualifications such as a Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care (or willingness to work towards it).
