DEPUTY SHOP MANAGER

APPROXIMATELY 15 HOURS PER WEEK,

NORMALLY WORKED OVER 3 DAYS

(INCLUDING SATURDAYS AND SOME SUNDAY WORKING)

£13.50 - £14.50 PER HOUR (DEPENDING ON EXPERIENCE)

Downderry Community Shop & Café is more than just a shop. It's a thriving community-owned business at the heart of village life, providing essential services, supporting local producers and reinvesting every pound of profit back into projects that benefit our local community.

We're looking for an enthusiastic, organised and customer-focused Deputy Shop Manager to

work alongside our Shop Manager and dedicated team of volunteers, helping deliver excellent customer service while supporting the continued growth and success of the shop.

ABOUT THE ROLE HOURS

Approximately 15 hours per woek.

This is a varied management role combining customer service, retail operations and business support

Working closely with the Shop Manager, you will help oversee the day-to-day operation of the shop and contribute ideas to help the business

Key responsibilities include:

Supporting the day-to-day running of the shop
Supervising and supporting volunteers during your shifts.
Delivering outstanding customer service.
Stock ordering, merchandising and

stock control.

Assisting with rota planning and

administration.

Supporting marketing, social media and

community communications.

Helping develop new ideas and initiatives

that grow the business.

Deputising for the Shop Manager when required.

Regular Saturday working and some

Sunday working are an important part

of the role.

Hours are planned in advance and agreed with the Shop Manager with flexibility

wherever possible.

Some administration and planning tasks may be completed from home by agreement

ABOUT YOU

You'l be someone who:

Enjoys working with people and being part of a community.
Has excellent organisational and communication skills
Is reliable, positive and able to use
Enjoys taking responsibility and solving problems.
Has experience in retail, hospitality or a

supervisory role (desirable but not essential)
