Job Description
Job Title: Cleaning Operative
Work Location: Rose Street, Aberdeen
Reports to: Contract Manager
Hours: 2 hours per evening. 5:30pm - 7:30pm (Non flexible)
Salary: £13.45 per hour
Role Overview:
We are looking for a reliable External Cleaning Operative to ensure that effective operational tasks are employed within our client's premises. The role will be located at our client’s premises in Aberdeen city.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
External Atriums and Car Park Areas
- Sweeping and removing litter, leaves, and debris.
- Emptying and cleaning external waste bins.
- Cleaning entrances, walkways, and surrounding areas.
- Spot-cleaning walls, doors, and glass surfaces as required.
- Removing cobwebs from exterior fixtures and covered areas.
- Reporting hazards such as spillages, damaged surfaces, or faulty lighting.
- Maintaining cleanliness around smoking shelters and designated outdoor areas.
Internal Reception Areas
- Vacuuming carpets and mopping hard floors.
- Dusting reception desks, furniture, ledges, and fixtures.
- Cleaning entrance doors, glass panels, and touchpoints.
- Emptying waste bins and replacing liners.
- Sanitising high-contact surfaces such as door handles and counters.
- Keeping reception areas tidy and presentable for visitors and staff.
Internal Common Areas
- Vacuuming, sweeping, and mopping floors in corridors and communal spaces.
- Dusting furniture, skirting boards, and other surfaces.
- Cleaning internal glass, mirrors, and partitions.
- Emptying bins and disposing of waste appropriately.
- Sanitising touchpoints, including handrails, lift buttons, and door handles.
- Replenishing consumables where required (e.g., soap, paper towels, toilet tissue).
- Reporting maintenance issues, damages, or health and safety concerns.
General Responsibilities
- Use cleaning equipment and chemicals safely and in accordance with procedures.
- Follow health and safety and COSHH guidelines.
- Complete cleaning schedules and checklists as required.
- Maintain cleaning equipment and report faults.
- Ensure all areas are clean, safe, and presentable at all times.
