We’re currently recruiting for a Lorry Driver to support the movement of materials between our main site and Unit 101.
Alongside driving duties, the role will also support the Paint Preparation team and help with general site cleaning.
We’re looking for someone who is reliable, adaptable, and flexible, and happy to support across different areas as we continue to grow our manufacturing operations.
Main duties and responsibilities
Purpose:
To safely operate a 7.5 tonne lorry between our main site unit 30-32 and Unit 101, delivering units and parts as required under the direction of the Paint Shop Supervisor, while supporting parts movement and maintaining clean, safe and organised work areas. The role supports day-to-day operations by ensuring units, parts and materials are transported efficiently, professionally and in line with company procedures.
Overview:
Working alongside multiple teams, this role combines driving duties between the main site and Unit 101, parts running, B2 forklift operation and cleaning responsibilities. The post holder will complete vehicle checks, transport units and parts, load and unload safely, maintain accurate paperwork and support excellent housekeeping standards across both sites.
Duties & Responsibilities Include:
Driver
· Safely drive and operate a 7.5 tonne vehicle in accordance with road traffic legislation, company procedures and driver responsibilities
· Complete daily vehicle checks, report defects promptly and ensure the vehicle is kept clean, roadworthy and secure
· Complete regular deliveries between the main site unit 30-32 and Unit 101, transporting units, parts, materials, equipment and documents as instructed
· Load, secure and unload units, parts and goods safely, using correct manual handling techniques, B2 forklift operation where appropriate, and any other approved equipment
· Run parts between the main site, Unit 101, stores and workshop areas to support operational requirements
· Check parts against paperwork, raise discrepancies and communicate shortages or urgent requirements
· Follow company health, safety and environmental procedures, including PPE, pedestrian safety and traffic management rules
· Communicate professionally with suppliers, colleagues and customers when completing deliveries or collections
· Assist with general site support duties as reasonably required by the Paint Shop Supervisor or Manager
Paint Preparation Assistant
· Support the paint team as required with Paint preparation, including sanding, grinding to ensure units are prepared for the Paint team
Site cleaning team
· Support the site cleaning team as required across Unit 101 and Units 30-32
· Empty bins and dispose of waste correctly
· Sweep floors, walkways and yard areas
· Carry out litter picking around site areas
· Keep welfare areas clean, tidy and presentable
· Wipe down surfaces and support general housekeeping standards
· Maintain clear pedestrian routes and safe working areas
