Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Early Years Practitioner (EYP) to join our childcare team. The ideal candidate will possess strong management and leadership skills, with a passion for working with children in a nursery environment. This role involves overseeing daily activities, supporting staff, and ensuring a safe, nurturing, and educational environment for young children. The Senior EYP will play a key role in implementing early childhood education programmes and fostering positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues. This position is paid and offers an excellent opportunity for professional development within a reputable childcare setting.

Responsibilities

Lead and supervise a team of early years practitioners to deliver high-quality care and education.
Plan, organise, and evaluate age-appropriate activities that promote children's development across all areas.
Support children’s social, emotional, and behavioural development through positive guidance and interaction.
Maintain effective communication with parents regarding their child's progress and well-being.
Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations, safeguarding policies, and early years curriculum standards.
Assist in the induction and training of new staff members to uphold organisational standards.
Contribute to the continuous improvement of nursery practices through reflective practice and feedback.
Drive initiatives that promote inclusive practices and support children with additional needs.

Skills

Proven management and leadership experience within early childhood education or childcare settings.
Strong understanding of child development principles and nursery best practices.
Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
Experience working directly with children in a nursery or similar environment; childcare qualifications are desirable.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team whilst also demonstrating initiative independently.
Compassionate approach with the ability to build trusting relationships with children, parents, and colleagues.
Organised with the capacity to plan effectively whilst managing multiple priorities.
Valid driving licence is advantageous for travel between sites or community engagement activities. This role offers an enriching environment where your leadership can make a meaningful difference in young children's lives while supporting your professional growth within early years education.

Pay: £13.30 per hour
