Eventus Legal Recruitment is seeking a Paralegal to join a modern and entrepreneurial law firm based in Haywards Heath, West Sussex. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated law graduate or aspiring solicitor looking to develop a long term legal career within a supportive and forward thinking environment. The firm offers exposure to high quality work across a broad range of practice areas, alongside genuine progression opportunities towards qualification through the SQE route. Following probation, hybrid working is available.

This Haywards Heath, West Sussex based Paralegal role would suit an ambitious individual with strong organisational skills, commercial awareness, and a genuine interest in developing within corporate and litigation focused legal work. The firm embraces technology and AI driven efficiencies, operating within a collaborative and modern legal environment. On offer is a starting salary of £26,000-32,000 (depending on experience), 22 days holidays plus bank holidays, free car parking, pay reviews, bonus schemes, regular social events both internally and external networking opportunities, and a clear and structured training and development programme towards qualification.

Role Responsibilities

As the Paralegal based in Haywards Heath, West Sussex, you will support solicitors and fee earners across a variety of legal matters while developing practical legal and client management skills. Responsibilities include:

Assisting solicitors with matters across multiple practice areas
Supporting teams in corporate and commercial, civil litigation, residential conveyancing, employment, commercial property, intellectual property, and insolvency
Drafting legal documents, correspondence, and client communications
Conducting legal research and preparing supporting documentation
Managing files and assisting with matter progression
Liaising professionally with clients, third parties, and external stakeholders
Supporting case administration and maintaining accurate records
Assisting with business development, networking, and marketing activities where required

Person Specification

The successful Paralegal for the Haywards Heath, West Sussex office will possess strong academics, excellent communication skills, and a genuine interest in progressing towards qualification as a solicitor. The firm is seeking someone commercially minded, proactive, and capable of working both independently and collaboratively. You will also have:

Qualifying law degree completed is essential
Completed LLM, LPC, SQE exams, are beneficial though not essential
Practical experience within a law firm is advantageous
A willingness to gain experience across a variety of legal practice areas
Strong organisational and time management skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
High attention to detail and presentation standards
Strong IT skills and confidence using modern technology including AI tools
Commercial awareness and an interest in entrepreneurship and business
A professional, positive, and adaptable approach
The ability to manage a busy workload calmly and effectively
