Full job description

Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Motor Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical expertise in vehicle maintenance and repair, with a focus on ensuring optimal performance and safety of motor vehicles. This role offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment where attention to detail, mechanical knowledge, and customer service are highly valued. The successful applicant will be responsible for diagnosing issues, performing repairs, and maintaining a variety of motor vehicles using a range of tools and techniques.

Responsibilities

Conduct thorough inspections of vehicles to identify mechanical issues using schematics and diagnostic tools
Perform repairs and maintenance on engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension systems, and other vehicle components
Utilise hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and assembly techniques to complete repairs efficiently
Interpret technical diagrams and schematics to accurately diagnose problems
Carry out equipment repair and maintenance tasks to ensure operational safety and compliance with standards
Assist with heavy lifting and manoeuvring of vehicle parts or machinery as required
Maintain detailed records of work performed for each vehicle or piece of equipment
Provide excellent customer service by explaining repairs needed and ensuring customer satisfaction with the service provided

Skills

Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to interpret schematics and technical diagrams
Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and assembly techniques
Experience in vehicle maintenance, repair, and equipment troubleshooting
Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently
Good organisational skills for managing multiple repair tasks simultaneously
Excellent customer service skills to communicate effectively with clients about repairs and maintenance needs
Knowledge of safety procedures related to equipment repair and heavy machinery operation

This position is suitable for individuals who are passionate about automotive technology and committed to delivering high-quality service. Candidates should be organised, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently or as part of a team.
