Procurement Manager – People Capability & Training
Location: Hybrid working with your primary office location being whichever is closest to you: Derby, Warrington or Manchester
Salary: £60,000 - £78,750 + £2,200 benefits allowance + 12.5% bonus

The Team
The Procurement & Supply Chain function is fundamental to the successful delivery of Rolls-Royce SMR. As we continue to scale, attracting, developing and retaining exceptional talent is critical to our success.
The Supply Chain Assurance team is responsible for ensuring the function has the capability, competence and development pathways needed to support a rapidly growing and highly regulated business. This role will play a key part in shaping the future of Procurement & Supply Chain capability across the organisation.
The Opportunity
We're looking for a Procurement Manager – People Capability & Training to lead the development and delivery of our Procurement & Supply Chain capability strategy.
This is a unique opportunity to combine extensive Procurement & Supply Chain experience with a passion for people development, learning and organisational capability. You'll be responsible for defining and embedding career pathways, learning frameworks and development programmes that support colleagues from apprentice level through to senior leadership.
You'll lead the development of the Procurement & Supply Chain Academy, helping to create a culture of continuous learning while ensuring the function maintains the skills, knowledge and competence required to support future growth.
We'll Need You To

Lead the development and implementation of the Procurement & Supply Chain Academy and supporting learning curriculum.

Develop and maintain capability frameworks, knowledge models and career pathways that support professional development across all levels of the function.

Drive the delivery of the Procurement & Supply Chain capability strategy, ensuring alignment with wider business objectives and workforce development plans.

Develop meaningful capability reporting and performance measures that provide visibility of training effectiveness and organisational readiness.

Manage apprentice and graduate development programmes, including structured career pathways, coaching and mentoring support.

Champion continuous improvement across learning, development and capability activities, identifying innovative ways to strengthen organisational performance and employee development.

What We're Looking For

Significant Procurement or Supply Chain experience gained within a complex organisational environment.

Experience developing competency frameworks, capability models, training programmes or structured development pathways.

Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills with the ability to engage at all levels of a business.

Experience coaching, mentoring and developing individuals and teams.

A passion for learning, development and building high-performing organisations.

A relevant degree, professional qualification or equivalent demonstrable industry experience.

Professional qualifications such as MCIPS, IoSCM or equivalent experience would be advantageous.

Success in this position will come from your ability to balance strategic workforce capability planning with practical implementation.
You'll work closely with Procurement & Supply Chain leaders to identify capability requirements, support workforce development planning and create meaningful development opportunities that strengthen organisational performance.
You'll help establish clear progression pathways, support talent development initiatives and ensure colleagues have access to the learning experiences they need to grow their careers.
This role offers significant visibility across the business and the opportunity to influence how a growing organisation develops one of its most critical functions.
Location
We offer flexible and hybrid working arrangements. This role can be aligned to Derby, Warrington or Manchester, with regular collaboration across the wider business as required.
What's In It for You?
We anticipate paying a salary of between £60,000 - £78,750
