Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Dog Groomer to join our grooming salon The ideal candidate will have a genuine love for animals, excellent grooming skills, and a commitment to providing outstanding customer service. This role offers an opportunity to work in a friendly environment where animal care is our top priority. The Dog Groomer will be responsible for maintaining the appearance and hygiene of our canine clients, ensuring they leave looking and feeling their best.

Responsibilities

Groom dogs of various breeds, sizes, and temperaments, including bathing, trimming, clipping, and styling coats according to breed standards or customer preferences
Maintain a clean and safe grooming environment by sanitising tools and work areas regularly
Assess each dog’s coat condition and recommend appropriate grooming treatments or health checks
Handle animals gently and confidently to ensure their comfort and safety throughout the grooming process
Communicate effectively with pet owners regarding grooming needs, aftercare advice, and any health concerns observed during grooming.
Keep detailed records of each dog’s grooming history and specific requirements

Requirements

Previous experience in veterinary care or animal grooming is highly desirable
Strong knowledge of different dog breeds, coat types, and grooming techniques
Excellent animal care skills with patience and compassion for animals of all temperaments
Exceptional customer service skills to engage with pet owners professionally and courteously
Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary, such as lifting large dogs onto grooming tables or into baths
A genuine passion for animal welfare and attention to detail in grooming standards
