New Venue - The Vintage Prestwick

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Porter to join our dynamic culinary team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, supporting food preparation activities, and ensuring a smooth operation during service hours. This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain valuable experience within the hospitality industry, particularly in a fast-paced restaurant or hotel environment. Prior experience in food service or hospitality is advantageous but not essential, as training will be provided.

Responsibilities

Wash, clean, and sanitise dishes, utensils, cookware, and kitchen equipment to ensure hygiene standards are met.
Assist with basic food preparation tasks under supervision, including peeling, chopping, and organising ingredients.
Support the kitchen team during busy service periods by ensuring all necessary items are available and ready for use.
Maintain cleanliness of work surfaces, floors, and storage areas throughout shifts.
Dispose of waste responsibly and ensure recycling procedures are followed.
Restock supplies and organise storage areas to facilitate efficient workflow.
Follow health and safety guidelines diligently to uphold a safe working environment.

Skills

Experience in food preparation or working within a restaurant or hotel setting is desirable.
Knowledge of kitchen hygiene standards and safety procedures.
Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Good organisational skills with attention to detail.
Basic cooking skills are a plus but not essential; willingness to learn is important.
Excellent communication skills and a positive attitude towards hospitality service. This role is ideal for individuals looking to develop their career within the hospitality industry while contributing to a high-quality dining experience. All positions are paid in accordance with employment regulations.
