Full job description

Job Summary
We are currently looking to recruit Commis Chefs to join our busy kitchen team at The Plume of Feathers.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to begin or develop a career within the hospitality industry. No previous experience is required as full training will be provided for the right candidates.

Responsibilities

Assist in the preparation and cooking of a variety of dishes following established recipes and standards
Support the team in meal preparation, ensuring timely delivery during service periods
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of workstations, adhering to food safety and hygiene regulations
Prepare ingredients by chopping, peeling, and measuring as required for different recipes
Ensure all food is stored correctly and waste is minimised according to health and safety guidelines
Support with serving food to customers when necessary, providing excellent customer service
Follow all kitchen safety procedures and report any hazards or issues to senior staff promptly
Your responsibilities will include preparing
 Salads
 Dips
 Dressings
 Starter dishes
 Dessert dishes

Availability Requirements

Applicants must be flexible and available to work:

 Evenings

 School holidays, including weekday shifts during peak trading periods

About Our Kitchen

We operate a fast-paced, high-volume fresh food kitchen where teamwork, organisation and communication ar essential during busy service periods. Our kitchen prepares a wide variety of dishes using fresh ingredients, with a strong focus on consistency, cleanliness and maintaining high standards throughout service.

As a commis chef, you will gain hands-on experience working within a professional kitchen environment while learning directly from our experienced senior chefs. We believe in developing people properly, so full training, support and guidance will be provided to help you build confidence, improve your skills and progress within the role over time.
