Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Activity Coordinator to join our team in providing engaging and meaningful activities for residents in our care home. The ideal candidate will have a passion for enhancing the quality of life for seniors, particularly those living with dementia or Alzheimer's. This role is essential in fostering a vibrant community atmosphere and ensuring that all residents feel valued and included.

Responsibilities

Develop, implement, and oversee a diverse range of activities tailored to the interests and abilities of residents.
Coordinate with care staff to ensure activities are aligned with individual care plans and needs.
Facilitate group activities, including arts and crafts, games, music sessions, and physical exercises.
Organise special events and outings to promote social interaction among residents.
Maintain accurate records of participation and feedback to continually improve programming.
Communicate effectively with residents, families, and staff to encourage participation and gather insights on preferences.
Provide support in caregiving tasks as needed, ensuring the safety and well-being of all participants.

Skills

Previous experience in care homes highly desirable.
Knowledge of dementia care practices and techniques for engaging individuals with Alzheimer's is beneficial.
Strong communication skills to effectively interact with residents, families, and team members.
Ability to create a warm, welcoming environment that encourages resident participation.
Experience in caregiving or working within a care home setting is an asset.
A creative mindset with the ability to develop innovative activity ideas that cater to diverse interests.
