Full job description

Cunninghams is a firm of Chartered Accountants in Lowestoft. Three partners and a team of around 22, across audit, accounts, bookkeeping, payroll and tax. We look after SME businesses and individuals in a wide range of trades, so the work is varied and you'll see a lot of different businesses up close.

We're looking for an accounts semi-senior to join our accounts production team. A more experienced senior would also be considered. Salary depends on experience and qualifications, and is negotiable for the right candidate.

What the role involves:

Preparing accounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies
Inputting data for personal and corporate tax computations, with the chance to take on more complex tax work as you develop
Working alongside the rest of the team and dealing directly with clients
Possibly looking after a small portfolio of bookkeeping clients
Bespoke assignments outside routine compliance, where good communication and a flexible approach matter

What we're looking for:

Solid experience in an accountancy practice doing similar work, to a good standard
Someone who reviews their own work carefully and sees a job through
Self-motivated and able to work independently, but happy as part of a team
Qualifications help but aren't essential — good practice experience counts just as much

We use IRIS as our main platform for accounts and tax production. Experience with it is a bonus, not a requirement.
