Full job description

Location: Georgian House Hotel, Whitehaven
Job Type: Full-time / Part-time (to be agreed)

About the Role

We are looking for a friendly, reliable and enthusiastic Bar Person to join our team within our busy Restaurant in Whitehaven. Experience is preferred, but we are looking for someone with a positive attitude, excellent customer service skills and a willingness to work as part of a team.

You will be responsible for delivering outstanding service to our hotel guests and restaurant customers while ensuring the bar operates efficiently and maintains high standards at all times.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.
Provide a warm, friendly and professional service to all guests.
Take drink orders from restaurant customers and bar guests.
Taking food orders for Restaurant guests.
Maintain a clean, organised and well-stocked bar area.
Replenish stock and report shortages when required.
Process payments accurately using the till/POS system.
Ensure all licensing laws and Challenge 25 procedures are followed.
Assist restaurant staff when required during busy service.
Follow all food hygiene, health & safety and hotel policies.
Help with opening and closing duties.

Requirements

Applicants must be aged 18 or over due to the nature of the role and the sale of alcohol.
Previous bar experience is preferred.
Excellent customer service and communication skills.
Ability to work well under pressure in a busy environment.
A positive attitude with a flexible approach to work.
Reliable, punctual and well presented.
Available to work evenings, weekends and bank holidays as required.
