About Glasscombe

Glasscombe is a new luxury glamping site located near Monkton Farleigh, around 15 minutes from Bath.

Launching in July 2026, the site will include 11 design-led geodesic domes and mirror cabins. We are creating a quiet, high-quality guest experience that combines nature, comfort, design, and strong operational standards.

The Role

We are looking for a reliable and capable Part-Time Relief Site Operator to provide flexible cover when our core site operators are unavailable due to holiday, illness, training, or additional operational demand.

This is a flexible casual role with no guaranteed minimum hours. Work will be offered as needed, and you will be paid for the shifts or agreed support work you complete.

When covering a shift, you will be the main person responsible for site operations, guest experience, and maintaining standards. This is not just an admin or assistant role. You need to be comfortable working independently and taking responsibility when on site.

This role may suit someone with hospitality, guest services, property operations, holiday accommodation, or site management experience who wants flexible work but is capable of stepping into a responsible operational role when needed.

Typical Working Pattern

Shift cover will usually be required when one of the main site operators is unavailable.

Typical shift hours are expected to be approximately:

10:00am–6:00pm

When covering a shift, you may also be asked to provide overnight emergency guest cover after 6:00pm until the next operator comes on duty. This does not mean you are expected to work overnight, but you must be contactable and able to respond appropriately if an urgent issue arises.

Additional paid admin or operational support work may also be available by agreement.

Key ResponsibilitiesSite Shift Cover

Run the site during covered shifts and act as the main on-site point of contact
Help ensure guests receive a calm, professional, high-quality experience
Respond to guest questions, issues, and operational problems
Check accommodation and shared areas to make sure standards are being maintained
Coordinate with cleaning teams, maintenance contractors, and suppliers
Handle minor practical issues where appropriate
Escalate urgent or serious matters clearly and promptly
Monitor guest communications after hours when agreed as part of a covered shift
Maintain clear communication with the core operations team

Operations Support

When not covering full shifts, you may also help with:

Ordering and stock control
Supplier communication
Maintenance scheduling and follow-up
Updating checklists and operating procedures
General admin connected to site operations
Improving systems as the business grows

What We’re Looking For

You do not need previous glamping experience, but you do need to be practical, reliable, calm, and comfortable taking responsibility.

The right person will have:

Experience in hospitality, guest services, property management, holiday accommodation, site operations, or a similar role
Confidence dealing with guests professionally and calmly
Strong communication and organisational skills
Good judgement when working independently
A practical, solutions-focused approach
The ability to respond calmly when things do not go to plan
High standards of presentation and attention to detail
Flexible availability, including some weekends
A reliable way to travel to Monkton Farleigh
The ability to attend the site promptly when covering shifts or responding to urgent issues

This role is not suitable for someone who needs close supervision throughout the day. When covering a shift, you need to be comfortable being the responsible person on site.

Pay

£150–£180 per day for full site shift cover, depending on experience
Typical shift cover is expected to be approximately 10:00am–6:00pm
£50 overnight on-call stipend when you are asked to provide emergency guest cover after a shift
Any actual emergency work during an on-call period will be paid separately
Additional admin or project work may be available by agreement
Training will be provided before independent shift cover begins

Working Arrangement

This is a flexible casual / zero-hours role. There are no guaranteed minimum hours, and work will be offered as needed.

You are not required to accept every shift offered, but reliability is essential once a shift has been agreed.

Shifts will be arranged in advance wherever possible, although some short-notice cover may occasionally be required. Weekend availability is important.

Travel Requirement

A car is not strictly required, but you must have a reliable way to get to the site and be able to attend promptly when needed.

The site is located near Monkton Farleigh, approximately 15 minutes from Bath.
