Overview of the role: Accounts Assistant

As a Part‑Time Accounts Assistant, you will support the finance team in the day‑to‑day running of core accounting activities. This role ensures accurate financial data, timely processing of transactions, and smooth operation of month‑end activities. You will play a key role in maintaining high‑quality financial information that supports effective reporting and decision‑making across the business. This is a part time role, covering 3 days / 22.5 hours per week and we are flexible on how this is managed.

About you:

You are organised, reliable and enjoy working with numbers. You have strong attention to detail, thrive in a fast‑moving environment, and are confident managing multiple tasks simultaneously. You work well independently, communicate clearly, and are proactive in resolving queries. Above all, you are a team player who enjoys contributing to a professional and supportive finance function.

Your day to day: Accounts Assistant

AP processing, including timely and accurate entry of supplier invoices
Support weekly payment runs and associated documentation
Perform reconciliations across supplier statements, bank accounts, and GL accounts
Support prepayment and accruals accounting as part of month‑end processes
Assist with fixed asset tracking, additions, disposals, and depreciation updates
Act as expense system) administrator, supporting queries and maintaining accurate data
Maintain organised digital finance records to meet audit and compliance standards
Provide general administrative and finance support as required

Do you have what it takes?

Experience in accounts payable, reconciliations, or similar financial operations
Understanding of prepayments, accruals, and fixed asset accounting (preferred)
Familiarity with finance systems and willingness to learn tools such as Navan
Strong numerical skills and excellent attention to detail
Proficiency in MS Excel and general IT systems
Well ‑organised, with strong time‑management skills
Ability to work independently across part‑time hours
Confident communicator with a collaborative approach
Eagerness to contribute to continuous improvement within the finance team
