Full job description

JOB DESCRIPTION

You will report to the Operations Director and work primarily on site with time in the office as required by business needs. You may be required to work at other locations as directed by your manager or Directors.

You have no direct line management responsibilities at this stage, but will be required to supervise, mentor and support more junior colleagues on a day-to-day basis and as directed by your manager or Directors.

Duties

Your duties will include the following:

· Undertaking Land/Topographical/Measured Building Surveys and setting up site control using a variety of specialist equipment and technology, such as Robotic Total Stations, GPS and 3D Scanners/LiDAR.

· Analysing data using plans, maps, charts and software such as AutoCAD and GIS Programs.

· Quality control of survey data using on site verification methods and post survey analysis, utilising instrument processing software.

· Preparation of Survey Drawings and associated reports, ensuring that deliverables are submitted on time and to a high standard.

· Advising clients and providing support to junior staff and colleagues on technical matters.

· Responsibility for onsite project management.

· Responsibility for onsite liaison with client staff and other relevant third parties.

· Ensure that accurate, comprehensive and up to date records are kept of all on-site works, such that would be possible at any point to hand over project management in the event of sickness or programming constraints.

· Training colleagues on the proper procedures, processes, equipment and systems to ensure ongoing competence.

· All survey information collected on site to be of a high standard to enable processing teams to clearly understand and translate for drawing delivery. To conduct final quality checks of drawings/survey data to ensure that the information is accurate based on what was discovered on site.

· Reviewing projects and job folders ahead of all onsite works to ensure all relevant information is available. Liaising with client facing colleagues or directly with clients to obtain the necessary information if this is found to be lacking.

· Ensuring the ongoing maintenance and calibration of equipment to ensure it is in good condition and working order and immediately available.

· Ensuring that all company property and vehicles are kept in good working order and are always presentable, through appropriate delegation to assistants where necessary.

General Duties/Expectations:

· Comply with all Company policies, procedures and training requirements.

· Comply with all Health & Safety policies, procedures and working practices.

· Undertake additional tasks and duties as deemed necessary by your manager/Directors or by the needs of the business.

Certifications, Training & Qualifications

You will either have or be willing to study towards the following:

· 2 years + relevant experience

· Autodesk Suite Training (AutoCAD, ReCap, Revit, CivilCAD, Navisworks etc.)

· Topcon Instrument Training

· LSS Processing Software Training

· Faro Instrument Training

· Scene Software Training

· High Risk Level 2 Confined Space Training with Rescue

· Emergency First Aid at Work

· Thames Water Safety Passport

· Basic Awareness and Manual Handling

· CSCS

· IOSH Working Safely

· Asbestos Awareness

· NRSWA- Signing, Lighting and Guarding

· Any training/qualifications/certifications required by law, best practice or clients

· Any other training identified by your manager which supports or adds value to your role
