Full job description

We are looking for an experienced Lead Chef to manage kitchen operations, deliver high-quality food and lead our kitchen team. Working closely with the Catering Manager, you will ensure excellent customer care, food standards and strong commercial performance.

Key responsibilities:

Prepare and deliver high-quality food to a consistently high standard
Lead, train and motivate the kitchen team: manage rotas, cover, and staff development
Ensure full compliance with food safety, health, hygiene and legal requirements
Maintain strict cleaning standards and accurate kitchen records
Support menu planning, pricing and costing to achieve profit targets
Manage stock ordering and control to minimise waste
Work with management on food promotions, local supplier partnerships and business development
Assist with functions and events
Handle customer feedback professionally and positively
Lead by example to maximise efficiency and quality

Experience and Requirements:

Proven experience as a Chef in a management or leadership role (Essential)
Experience in events catering or the events industry (Advantageous)
Strong leadership, organisational, and communication skills
Solid understanding of food safety, hygiene and kitchen compliance
