We are seeking an enthusiastic and organised Duty Manager (Swim School Lead) to join our team at Dorchester Sports Centre. This role combines active duty management with responsibility for the day-to-day coordination and development of our swim school.

You will play a vital role in ensuring the centre operates smoothly while delivering a high-quality swimming programme and excellent customer experience.

Key Responsibilities:

Act as Duty Manager overseeing the safe and efficient operation of the leisure centre
Lead and coordinate the swim school programme including lesson planning and scheduling
Supervise support and develop Swim Instructors, Lifeguards and centre staff
Ensure all health and safety and safeguarding procedures are followed at all times
Be the main point of contact for swim school enquiries feedback and issues
Manage rotas staffing levels and cover where required
Handle customer queries and complaints professionally and effectively
Support wider centre operations including reception and other departments when needed

Hours: 31 hours per week, Monday to Sunday (rota basis)

Requirements

We’re looking for someone who is:

Passionate about swimming leisure and customer service
A confident and approachable leader with strong people skills
Highly organised and able to manage multiple priorities
Calm under pressure and able to make sound decisions
A clear and effective communicator with staff and customers
Flexible and reliable with availability for evenings and weekends

Desirable Skills & Experience:

Experience working in a leisure centre or swim school environment
Previous supervisory or duty management experience
Knowledge of swim lesson programmes and progression frameworks
Understanding of health and safety procedures in a wet-side environment
Relevant qualifications such as NPLQ Swim England and First Aid
Good IT and administrative skills
