Full job description

Full-Time Teaching Assistant (Maternity Cover)

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our supportive school team on a full-time basis, for at least one full term. Working under the guidance of the class teacher and senior staff, you will play a key role in supporting pupils’ learning, wellbeing, and development within the classroom.

Key Responsibilities

Provide classroom support to pupils, including those with Special Educational Needs (SEND).
Deliver small-group and one-to-one interventions, particularly in core subjects such as Phonics and Maths.
Support pupils’ personal, social, and educational development, ensuring their safety and wellbeing at all times.
Assist with classroom organisation, preparation of learning resources, and administrative tasks.
Encourage positive behaviour, inclusion, independence, and engagement in learning.
Support teachers in monitoring pupil progress and communicating relevant information.
Supervise pupils during breaktimes, educational visits, and other school activities as required.

Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Be able to build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and families.
Demonstrate patience, flexibility, and a caring approach.
Be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
Have experience working with children in an educational setting.
