Salary: £36,636 to £38,784 with progression to £46,049 per annum

You will be joining a growing team dedicated to providing quality business analysis services, supporting a wide variety of transformational technology initiatives.
Supported by Business Analysis Practice Lead, you will contribute to the development of a service-led business analysis framework based on industry standard best practices, validating, documenting, and disseminating business analysis-related knowledge.
We are keen to hear from candidates who are adept at delivering high quality business analysis activities through effective facilitation, negotiation and influencing skills.
To be successful in this role you will be able to collaborate effectively with varied and challenging stakeholders from all parts of the University. You will regularly facilitate workshops to address complex business problems, using multiple means of gathering stakeholder views. You will be able to effectively adapt your communication styles and methods to reach and influence a broad and varied stakeholder base. You should have demonstrable experience in eliciting, analysing and managing business requirements in both Waterfall and Agile technology initiatives, along with confidence in your approach to apply process analysis, design and improvement standards and methods to solve business problems.

Key Accountabilities
- Leads requirements elicitation, analysis and management within scope of technology projects, using industry standard techniques such as use cases, user stories, and customer journey mapping.
- Engages with relevant stakeholders across all parts of the University to influence project decisions; assesses the risks of various solutions and supports prioritisation of competing functional requirements.
- Leads business analysis work effort during the pre-approval stages, which includes leveraging best practices and techniques in identifying and, where possible, quantifying high-level benefits for inclusion in business cases.
- Works with NUIT subject matter experts and business partners to build comprehensive business cases, including carrying out feasibility analysis, options analysis and related activities.
- As part of future-state analysis, engages with University and NUIT subject matter experts to identify solution options, documenting potential benefits, impacts, dependencies and risks within the existing architectural framework. Reviews the range of solutions available, presenting options and recommendations to the stakeholders on which ones to use.
- Models how business processes support University strategies and objectives and how, in turn, applications and processes support those business processes, producing business process diagrams for current and future state.
- Demonstrates, via models, the opportunities for best-in-class process management to relevant stakeholders. In collaboration with business partners and NUIT subject matter experts, determines and documents for relevant stakeholders the high-level impacts of process and technology change, and suggests procedural, tactical and business rule changes.
- Communicates and translates the required capabilities and outcomes effectively between business process areas and NUIT.
- Provides informal business analysis support, consultancy and advice to colleagues, either directly within their team or in a broader matrix organisation.
- Any other reasonable duties that fall within the scope of the post, as allocated by the line manager.
The Person (Essential)
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
- Experience in eliciting, analysing and managing business requirements and functional requirements, using industry standard techniques such as use cases, and user stories
- Extensive process improvement experience that leverages technology as part of the solution
- Solid experience with process redesign methods (such as business process re engineering, Six Sigma or total quality management)
- Knowledge of relevant business process standards (for example, Business Process Modeling Notation) and other business process analysis tools and methodologies
- Demonstrated ability to analyse, measure and communicate proposed project benefits and risks
- Demonstrated ability to negotiate with and influence both delivery teams and business partners to achieve target outcomes
- Broad IT domain experience
- Demonstrated knowledge of both traditional Waterfall and Agile/Lean methodologies

Qualifications
- A degree in information systems, business administration or related field, or an equivalent qualification or experience.
