Job Title: Social Media Manager & Content Creator
Location: The Spectacle Factory Opticians, Bamber Bridge, Preston
Job Type: Full-Time 5 Days a Week (Monday - Saturday, 9:00 AM - 5:30 PM) with a day off in the week
Salary: Competitive, based on experience
Experience: Minimum 2 Years
About Us:
We are a well-established, family-run optician's practice dedicated to providing exceptional care and service to our patients. We are looking for a motivated Office Administrator to join our friendly and professional team. This is a great opportunity to become part of a supportive environment where you will contribute to the smooth running of the practice and help deliver outstanding customer service.
The Role
This isn't a "post three times a week and track the likes" role.
We're a growing, ambitious brand with a loyal customer base, unique products, and a story worth telling. We need someone who can tell it brilliantly — through the lens of a camera, the rhythm of an edit, and a feed that makes people stop scrolling.
You'll be the creative engine behind our social presence. Shooting, editing, strategising, publishing — and constantly pushing to make the content better, smarter, and more engaging. You'll work closely with leadership, have real creative freedom, and see the direct impact of your work on a brand that's going places.
If you've spent the last few years building social accounts you're genuinely proud of, this is your chance to do it again with more creative control and a brand that gives you something real to work with.
What You'll Actually Be Doing
Creating content, not just scheduling it:
* Shooting high-quality photo and video content in-store and on location
* Creating short-form and long-form content for Instagram, TikTok, Facebook and YouTube
* Filming and editing customer stories, product features, educational content, behind-the-scenes and campaign material
* Coming up with ideas — not waiting to be told what to make
* Ensuring everything looks, sounds and feels like the brand
Owning our social channels:
* Managing and growing our presence across Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, YouTube and whatever's next
* Planning and executing a content calendar that balances consistency with creativity
* Engaging with our community — replying, reacting, building relationships
* Tracking performance, reading the data, and adjusting the strategy accordingly
* Staying ahead of trends, algorithm changes and platform updates
Supporting the bigger picture:
* Contributing to marketing campaigns, launches and events
* Working with the team on content strategy and brand positioning
* Helping with website content, blogs and digital marketing when needed
* Spotting opportunities for collaborations, partnerships and influencer activity
What You Bring
The essentials:
* 4+ years' hands-on experience in social media management and content creation
* A portfolio of accounts you've grown — with the numbers to back it up
* Strong photography and videography skills (you're comfortable behind the camera)
* Confident editing in Premiere Pro, Final Cut, DaVinci Resolve, CapCut or similar
* Deep understanding of how Instagram, TikTok, Facebook and YouTube actually work — not just how to post on them
* Sharp copywriting — you know how to write a caption that earns engagement
* Organised enough to juggle multiple projects without dropping anything
Bonus points:
* Experience growing a YouTube channel
* Knowledge of SEO and content marketing
* Canva skills
* Paid social campaign experience (Meta Ads, TikTok Ads)
Who You Are
* You're creative and you have taste — you know the difference between content that fills a feed and content that builds a brand
* You don't wait to be asked — you pitch ideas, flag opportunities, and push for better
* You're a clear communicator who thrives in a collaborative environment
* You care about the details — the colour grade, the thumbnail, the first three seconds
* You're genuinely passionate about this work, not just looking for a social media job
What We Offer
* A key role in a growing business with serious ambition
* Real creative ownership — your ideas won't gather dust
* A collaborative, supportive team that values what you bring
* The chance to work with unique products, premium brands and a loyal, engaged audience
