We are looking for a proactive, hands‑on and positive Maintenance Team Member to support the upkeep, repair and presentation of our unique attraction. This role is ideal for someone practical who enjoys variety, takes pride in their work and brings a strong can‑do attitude.
You will play a key role in ensuring buildings, landscaping, play equipment and guest areas are maintained to a high standard. Working as part of the wider Operations team, you will help create a safe, engaging and well‑presented environment for families, schools and groups visiting the attraction.
This is a physically active, varied role where no two days are the same — perfect for someone who enjoys problem‑solving, working outdoors and taking ownership of their work.
Key Responsibilities
Maintenance, Repairs & Site Presentation
- General maintenance & repairs — Carry out day‑to‑day maintenance, repairs, decorating and improvement works across the attraction.
- Building & equipment upkeep — Maintain buildings, play structures, animal areas, utilities and guest facilities to a consistently high standard.
- Planned preventative maintenance — Support PPM schedules to reduce downtime, improve reliability and extend asset lifespan.
- Grounds & landscaping — Assist with fencing, pathways, signage, planting, mowing, strimming and seasonal grounds projects.
- Seasonal & event support — Help prepare the site for seasonal events, school visits, peak trading periods and operational requirements.
- Site presentation — Ensure all guest‑facing areas are tidy, safe and visually appealing at all times.
Tools, Equipment & Safety
- Safe equipment operation — Operate tools, machinery and plant equipment safely and confidently where trained.
- Work area safety — Cordoning off work areas, maintaining safe working zones and following company procedures.
- PPE & compliance — Wear appropriate PPE and always follow safe systems of work.
- Hazard reporting — Report hazards, defects, accidents or near misses promptly.
- Animal area hygiene — Support hygiene and zoonotic disease controls when working in or around animal spaces.
Collaboration & Communication
- Cross‑team working — Work closely with Operations, Animal Care, Guest Experience and Events teams to support daily activity.
- Contractor coordination — Assist with supervising contractors and ensuring work is completed safely and to standard.
- Guest interaction — Provide friendly, professional interactions with guests when working in public areas.
- Record keeping — Complete maintenance logs, checklists and reports accurately and on time.
Desirable Experience & Qualifications
- Tractor, digger or telehandler experience
- Previous maintenance, grounds or construction experience
- First Aid qualification
- Spraying certificates or experience
- Basic Health & Safety knowledge
- Experience in visitor attractions, leisure or outdoor environments
