Job Summary

We are seeking a committed and skilled Youth Work Professional to design, deliver and evaluate youth development programmes in deprived neighbourhoods across England. The successful candidate will play a vital role in identifying young people at risk of anti-social behaviour, exploitation and violence, and will work closely with statutory and voluntary agencies to ensure young people receive the right support at the right time.

This is a rewarding opportunity for a values-driven professional who wants to make a genuine difference in the lives of vulnerable young people through structured, evidence-informed youth work.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Design and deliver youth development programmes tailored to the needs of young people in deprived neighbourhoods.
Identify young people at risk of anti-social behaviour, exploitation (including criminal and sexual exploitation) and violence, and make timely, appropriate referrals to relevant safeguarding and support agencies.
Undertake situational needs analyses to understand the specific challenges facing young people and communities.
Apply recognised youth work models and approaches suited to the needs of the young people being engaged.
Plan, monitor and evaluate youth work interventions using appropriate tools and methods to measure impact and outcomes.
Use project management tools and processes to manage programme delivery, including assessing and managing risk.
Draw on a range of information sources (local data, community insight, partner feedback) to inform and shape service development.
Build trusted, collaborative relationships with young people, families, partner agencies and colleagues, leading by personal example.
Maintain accurate records and documentation in line with safeguarding, GDPR and organisational policies.
Contribute to a culture of cooperation, trust and shared commitment across the team and wider partnership network.

Skills, Experience and Qualifications

Demonstrated ability to undertake situational needs analysis with young people and communities.
Sound knowledge of youth work models and frameworks appropriate to diverse young people's needs.
Proven ability to plan, monitor and evaluate youth work using appropriate tools and methods.
Skilled in using a range of information sources to inform and improve service delivery.
A collaborative approach, with the ability to build trust, cooperation and commitment among young people, colleagues and partner organisations.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Understanding of safeguarding principles and statutory referral pathways.
A Master's degree in Social Sciences or a relevant related discipline.
Experience working within deprived or under-resourced communities.
Existing networks with statutory agencies (police, social care, education) and voluntary sector partners.
Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to undergo one).

Pay: £38,000.00 per year
