Assistant Manager – Catwalk Club, Exeter

Pay: £13.50–£14.00 per hour, depending on experience

Hours: 16–38 hours per week (part-time or full-time)

About the Role

At Catwalk Club, we don’t just sell dresses—we help create unforgettable memories.

We’re looking for a warm, confident and organised Assistant Manager who loves working with people and is passionate about delivering an exceptional customer experience. Whether you’re helping a customer find their dream prom dress, accepting deliveries, preparing stock or keeping the boutique running smoothly, you’ll play an important role in making every visit special.

Personality plays a huge role in our boutique, as our main customers are prom-aged girls and we want every customer to feel excited, confident and comfortable in a safe, patient and accepting environment.

Most aspects of the role can be taught through training, but we’re looking for someone who is passionate about people, loves evening wear and brings a vibrant, warm personality to the team. If that sounds like you, we’d love to hear from you.”

Key Responsibilities

Deliver exceptional customer service and styling advice
Work both Saturdays and Sundays from January to May (and throughout October), which are our busiest periods. Saturdays are required throughout the remainder of the year.
Support the day-to-day running of the boutique
Assist with opening and closing procedures
Process sales and handle customer enquiries
Maintain high visual merchandising standards
Manage paperwork and administrative tasks
Support stock organisation and inventory management
Assist with social media content and marketing activities
Ensure the boutique remains clean, welcoming and beautifully presented

Who We’re Looking For

We’re looking for someone with a warm, confident personality who genuinely enjoys working with people.

You’ll be someone who:

Loves delivering exceptional customer service
Has a positive, friendly and approachable personality
Is highly organised and comfortable managing paperwork and administrative tasks
Feels comfortable running the boutique during solo shifts
Has strong attention to detail
Takes pride in maintaining a clean, welcoming and beautifully presented store
Is comfortable using social media and understands how platforms such as Instagram and TikTok can help promote the business
Enjoys being part of a team while also being confident working alone when required
Is flexible and willing to help with a variety of tasks

Previous retail experience is preferred, and experience in social media, marketing or content creation would be a real advantage.

Basic sewing or alteration skills would be welcomed but are not essential.

Additional Information

This position can be either part-time or full-time, depending on the successful candidate. Expected hours are between 16 and 38 per week and can be discussed at interview.
