Job Overview

We are looking for someone for a permanent part time role who is able to fit in with our small team based in Totton, working alongside the Office Manager and nine Surveyors. Ideally the hours would be three full days, Monday, Wednesday and Thursday, but this is flexible.

About the Company

In existence since 1985, we have just celebrated a milestone 40-year anniversary of marine surveying. Over four decades now, we have provided a number of services to the industry spanning from pre-purchase surveys to refit technical supervision, plan appraisals, specification writing, new construction technical supervision, valuations, expert witness work, and arbitration.

Our team of surveyors are equipped with a combined industry experience of over 200 years, ranging from backgrounds in commercial, military, yachting, seagoing, classification, naval architecture and marine engineering.

We pride ourselves on being a well trusted, professional company who offer a first class service to our customers.

Requirements

Professional manner
Proficient across MS Office
Reliable with good time keeping
Good attention to detail
Good organisation skills
Can work independently

Key Tasks

Dealing with incoming emails and phone calls
Reviewing and sending out proposals, reports and contracts
Producing invoices and credit notes
Creating timesheets for new jobs and monthly work
Processing expenses
Ensuring spreadsheets and records are up to date
Booking overseas travel for surveys
Adhoc tasks for the smooth running of the office and projects

Benefits

20 days annual leave + bank holidays (pro-rata for part time)
Working hours 9-5 (can be flexible with this)
