Full job description

JOB TITLE: GP Support Team Member

LOCATION: North Road Medical Practice

We're looking for an enthusiastic, motivated and committed person to work in our friendly GP surgery. The person we're looking for must have excellent communication, listening, and organisational skills. Proficiency in using all Microsoft packages is desirable.

Your hours can mean starting at 8am and at least one day finishing at 6:30pm. We can be flexible with days of work.

We're looking for someone who will represent the policies of the Practice to the patient
and to help maintain the delivery of high standard of patient care.

DUTY/RESPONSIBILITY

To welcome and help patients in person or over the telephone.
Responsibility for opening and closing procedures, operating of telephone system and alarm system and follow instructions for any emergency system failure.
Use of computerised medical system: making/changing appointments, checking: results and knowledge of prescribing process.
Liaison with other professional colleagues, for example, District Nurses, Health Visitors, Ambulance Service, Hospitals, Midwives. To pass and receive accurate information regarding patients.
Message handling: ensure that accurate messages are taken and passed to appropriate person for action either manually or by using electronic messaging.
Adhere to Health and Safety procedures as set out by the Practice.
Undertake any other reasonable miscellaneous duties as requested by the Practice Manager or Doctors.

Pay: £12.71 per hour
