Summary

'Civil Contracts Manager' is a pivotal role based in Carlisle, that involves overseeing civil engineering contracts to ensure successful project delivery. Located , this position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to our company's ongoing expansion and leadership in the industry.

Responsibilities

Manage and oversee civil engineering contracts from initiation to completion.
Negotiate terms and manage relationships with clients and subcontractors.
Coordinate project schedules using Microsoft Project and other tools.
Lead project teams ensuring adherence to safety, quality, and budget standards.
Monitor progress and prepare reports for senior management.
Ensure compliance with legal and contractual obligations.
Drive continuous improvement in project delivery processes.
Collaborate with stakeholders to meet project goals effectively.
Attend/chair internal & external meetings to ensure the production of accurate records of any discussions & actions.
Proven experience in civil engineering contract management.
Liaise with third parties to ensure compliance with HAUC, NRSWA, Chapter 8 & other required regulatory standards.
Knowledge of construction processes and safety standards.
Effective communication skills for liaising with clients and teams.
Assisting with the preparation of tenders for Clients and commercial bids to help bring in new business.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Qualifications & Experience

An understanding of the construction industry & contractual documentation.
Strong leadership skills & business management skills with the ability to use your initiative.
Extensive experience of managing projects within a resurfacing/civils environment.
Working knowledge of contract conditions, CDM regulations, design management, programme & risk management.
Knowledge of cost control including forecasting, actual cost & value reporting. Experience of Microsoft project & appropriate IT knowledge.
Knowledge of the NEC contract including the Early Warning and Compensation Event mechanisms.
Educated as a minimum to HNC/HND/Degree level (or equivalent).
Experience of Pre-Qualification & Tendering process for a number of multi-discipline projects.
Excellent people management skills with the ability to influence and mentor, and possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, with both customers and all levels of staff.
Problem solving skills and analytical thinking.
CSCS card to required level.
