Weekly Auction Administrator & Operations Assistant

Ross's Auctioneers & Valuers

Ross’s is a well-established firm of Auctioneers and Valuers located in the heart of Belfast. With a long-standing reputation for excellence and integrity, we offer a wide range of auction and valuation services to both private and corporate clients.

We are seeking a motivated and organised individual to join our team in a hands-on role supporting the running of our weekly auctions.

This is a varied position that combines administration, customer service, auction cataloguing, and porter duties. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of our weekly sales.

Key Responsibilities

Cataloguing items for weekly auctions, including researching, describing, and photographing lots where required.
Managing auction administration and maintaining accurate records.
Responding to customer enquiries by telephone, email, and in person.
Assisting buyers and sellers throughout the auction process.
Organising and coordinating collections and deliveries.
Preparing auction rooms and lots for sale.
Handling and moving furniture and other auction items safely.
General operational and administrative support as required.

Requirements

Strong organisational and administrative skills.
Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
Good attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Comfortable with manual handling and lifting furniture.
Basic computer literacy and confidence using email and office software.
A positive, flexible, and proactive approach to work.

Desirable

Previous experience in auctions, antiques, valuations, logistics, retail, or customer service.
Interest in antiques, collectibles, art, or auctioneering.

Working Hours & Location

Please note this position is fully on-site in Belfast city centre, Monday to Friday, 9.00am – 5.15pm.
