Job Overview
Part-time medical receptionist

West Oxfordshire
£12.71 per hour starting rate - view to increase
15 hours per week (Wed - Fri afternoons)

We are recruiting for a part-time GP Receptionist to join our busy and friendly semi-rural practice in Bampton, West Oxfordshire, serving a patient population of 9000 patients. This is a challenging yet highly rewarding role offering variety, responsibility, and the opportunity to be part of a supportive and professional team.

The post holder will provide a courteous and effective reception service to all patients, members of the public, staff and other professionals visiting or contacting the Practice.

The post holder will ensure effective and timely communication with all members of the Primary Healthcare Team and will carry out all associated administrative tasks in line with Practice policies, with particular attention to confidentiality at all times.

Duties

Responding to patient enquiries face-to-face, by telephone, and online
Booking, amending, and checking-in patient appointments
Managing prescription queries
Supporting administrative tasks including:
Scanning and filing
Patient registrations
General reception and office duties
Ensuring excellent patient service at all times in a busy environment

Working Hours

15 hours per week (Wednesday - Friday afternoons)
Flexibility required for:
Occasional earlier starts and later finishes
Covering staff sickness and annual leave
Overtime available

Skills

Essential:

GCSE (or equivalent) in Maths and English
Confident computer and IT skills
Experience in a customer service or patient-facing role
Strong communication and organisational skills
Ability to work well under pressure in a busy environment

Desirable:

Previous experience within a GP practice or healthcare setting
