Daytime Kitchen Assistant (Full Time and Part Time positions available)

We are looking for a motivated, hardworking and reliable Kitchen Assistants to support the kitchen team at our busy, well-established daytime café-bar / restaurant in Brompton on Swale.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced hospitality environment and wants to be part of a supportive, professional and well-run team focused on quality fresh food, excellent customer service and high standards throughout the business.
This is a permanent position and can be offered on either a full-time or part-time basis, with hours available from 8 to 40 hours per week depending on the successful applicant’s requirements and availability.
No evenings. No late nights. Finished by 6pm – always.

About the venue
Our daytime café-bar / restaurant is a popular destination with a warm, upmarket feel and a strong local following. We offer 100 covers indoors, plus a 60-cover terrace during the warmer months, creating a fast-paced but well-structured working environment.
Our menu focuses on quality, flavour and craftsmanship — from barista coffee, breakfast and brunch through to lunch, afternoon teas and Sunday lunches.
The role
You will work closely with the Head Chef, wider kitchen team and Front of House team to help ensure the smooth day-to-day running of both the kitchen and customer service operation.
This is a varied, hands-on role that includes kitchen support duties alongside helping the Front of House team during busy service periods.
Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting chefs with food preparation and basic kitchen duties
- Assisting with the smooth running of kitchen service
- Delivering food orders to customer tables professionally and efficiently
- Clearing and resetting tables during service
- Supporting the Front of House team where required
- Washing dishes, utensils and kitchen equipment
- Maintaining cleanliness and organisation throughout the kitchen and service areas
- Helping with stock rotation and storage procedures
- Assisting with deliveries and putting stock away correctly
- Supporting food hygiene and health & safety procedures
- Helping maintain 5-star food hygiene standards and SFBB compliance
- Working closely with the wider team to support smooth service flow
About you
- Previous kitchen or hospitality experience is preferred but not essential
- Hardworking, reliable and willing to learn
- Friendly, approachable and team-focused
- Comfortable working between kitchen and customer-facing areas
- Able to work efficiently in a busy environment
- Good attention to detail and cleanliness
- Calm and dependable under pressure
