Full job description

Marcegaglia Stainless Sheffield is recruiting for a Shift Analyst for our Analytical Laboratory. This is a shift-based role, where you will be working on a rota covering 12 hour day and night shifts across a 40-hour week and in return you will receive a competitive salary plus shift allowance with the opportunity for a salary increase upon completion of your training.

Duties:

Working safely in accordance with defined methods and within Marcegaglia’s safety culture and rules.
Preparation of samples for analytical testing.
Testing of metals and slags using OES and XRF
Radioactivity testing of metals and slags using gamma-ray spectrometers
Equipment standardisation, maintenance and basic fault-finding

Experience:

Have a minimum of 5 subjects at GCSE grade C or above including English and Mathematics. Full training will be provided.
Be willing to work flexibly as an individual and as part of a small team
Have good verbal and written communication skills
Accurate numeracy skills are essential
Be able to demonstrate an awareness of health and safety at work
Take a methodical approach to standardised tasks.
