iM Med Group Ltd is a specialist medical decontamination solutions business, operating a joint venture with SteelcoBelimed (Miele Group). We supply NHS trusts and private healthcare providers across England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland with a comprehensive range of endoscopy consumables, decontamination products and equipment services. We hold a position on the NHS Supply Chain Decontamination Framework and operate across four regional territories.
We are a growing, commercially-driven business with a strong clinical governance ethos rooted in our founding team's NHS background. This role is newly created and pivotal to supporting our next phase of growth.
The Role
The Management Accountant will support month-end close procedures, fulfill reporting requirements to internal stakeholders and across the joint venture, to SteelcoBelimed and Miele, work closely alongside the Financial Controller in handling statutory audits and business partnering and requests for financial analysis from other departments.
The newly created role will sit within a team comprising of a Finance Director, Financial Controller, Senior Finance Assistant and Credit Controller. This role may from time to time also extend to cover or support the functions of other roles within the finance team, to include for example purchase ledger, bank/cash administration, foreign currency payments and VAT.
Key Responsibilities
Month-End Close
- Prepare journals including accruals, prepayments and adjustments
- Perform revenue recognition calculations and deferred income adjustments for services and equipment sale / projects revenue streams
- Reconciliation of month end stock balances
- Review of margin analysis across departments to validate outcomes
- Maintain balance sheet reconciliations
Monthly Reporting
- Preparation of monthly reporting pack for review by Financial Controller
- Performance of group reporting to SteelcoBelimed and Miele in line with reporting timetable and guidelines
Budgeting, Forecasting & Analysis
- Support budgeting and reforecasting cycles
- Deliver financial analysis and insight to Financial Controller.
Audit & Compliance
- Assist with statutory accounts and provision of information to external advisors
- Support the external audit process including provision of information to external auditors
- Ensuring compliance with controls and assisting with control implementation
Business Partnering and Process Improvement
- Work with internal teams to provide financial insight and data
- Support the improvement of processes and systems within the finance team
- Work alongside other departments to facilitate wider process and systems improvements
About You
Qualifications:
- ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified or part-qualified
Relevant Experience:
- Using MS Office applications, with advanced experience in using Excel
- Proficient in accounting software, ideally Xero
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a finance role, preferably within an SME or similar hands-on environment
- Experience in working for logistics, distribution, or manufacturing sectors would be ideal, and an understanding of stock and inventory
- Experience of month-end processes
- Impeccable eye for detail and accuracy in financial record-keeping
Skills and Abilities:
- Experience within distribution/installation sectors, and knowledge of the Healthcare or Life-Sciences sector would be an advantage but not essential
- Has a customer driven, service approach, whilst maintaining high levels of integrity
- Ability to communicate clearly, including explanation of complicated finance processes to non-finance colleagues
- Ability to organise, prioritise and monitor workload to meet tight deadlines
- Ability to interact with people at all levels in an effective manner
- Flexibility to work within a rapidly changing environment
