Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Porter to join our dynamic hospitality team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness and organisation of our kitchen environment, ensuring smooth daily operations. This position offers an excellent opportunity to gain experience within a busy restaurant or hotel setting, supporting culinary staff and contributing to a high standard of service. Prior experience in food preparation, cooking, or hospitality is advantageous but not essential, as full training will be provided. The role is ideal for individuals passionate about the hospitality industry and eager to develop their skills in a professional environment.

Responsibilities

Assist with basic food preparation tasks as directed by the kitchen team
Support chefs with cleaning and sanitising kitchen equipment and work surfaces
Ensure all dishes, utensils, and kitchen tools are washed, dried, and stored correctly
Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen area, including floors, sinks, and storage spaces
Help with waste disposal and recycling procedures in accordance with health and safety standards
Support serving staff during busy periods by providing necessary assistance when required
Follow health and safety regulations at all times to ensure a safe working environment for all staff

Requirements

Previous experience in food preparation, cooking, or hospitality (desirable but not essential)
Knowledge of kitchen hygiene standards and safety procedures
Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team
Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities within a fast-paced environment
Good organisational skills with attention to detail
Willingness to learn new skills and undertake training as required
Previous experience in restaurant, hotel, or culinary settings is advantageous but not mandatory
