You will be working on a variety of legacy aerospace projects of a multidisciplinary nature & activities covering Design, Production & Maintenance of Aircraft, Aero-Engines & Systems, from the golden age of flight and shortly beyond the end of the Second World War.

The company is based on the outskirts of Dursley, Gloucestershire, perfect for someone looking to work at a local site with great transport links and away from the hustle of nearby cities. We are looking to develop the Management team, building on an expanding demand from our customers and seek a driven & engaging individual to join the business.
This role would suit a motivated, experienced Quality Engineer with a real passion for engineering. Relevant interests alongside an engineering apprenticeship are a real advantage. These could include any form of transportation, propulsion systems, vehicle maintenance, historical engineering etc.

Job Title: Quality Engineer

Job Summary: To support the Quality & Compliance function by carrying out routine coordination, administration, tracking, and follow-up activities across the management system, internal audit programme, corrective actions (CAPA), supplier oversight, and compliance processes.
Provide departmental cover during holiday periods
Responsibilities:
Quality & Compliance Administration
· Maintain quality and compliance trackers, logs, and spreadsheets
· Update QMS / IMS systems and workflow records
· Upload, file, and organise supporting evidence and documentation
· Keep audit, CAPA, and document records up to date
· Maintain master registers and controlled record lists
· Support routine compliance administration and general follow-up activities
2. Internal Audit Programme Coordination
· Maintain the internal audit programme and schedule
· Arrange audit logistics and bookings
· Prepare audit packs, checklists, and supporting documentation
· Record audit outcomes and distribute actions
· Log audit findings and track follow-up actions
· Monitor close-out status and chase overdue responses
3. Corrective Actions (CAPA) Tracking
· Log corrective and improvement actions
· Maintain action tracking systems
· Chase action owners for updates and supporting evidence
· Monitor and report overdue actions
· File closure evidence
· Support reporting on open and overdue actions
4. Document Control & Review Tracking
· Maintain document registers and master lists
· Track review and expiry dates for procedures, manuals, and forms
· Log document changes, revisions, and updates
· Support controlled issue and distribution of documents
· Archive superseded documents
· Coordinate review comments during document updates
5. Supplier Compliance Administration
· Issue supplier questionnaires and documentation requests
· Chase supplier responses and overdue returns
· Maintain supplier records and tracking systems
· Support supplier re-evaluation processes
· Update supplier approval and oversight logs
· File approvals, certifications, and supporting documentation
· Maintain supplier contact and review information
6. Supplier Audit Coordination & Follow-Up
· Schedule supplier audits
· Prepare audit packs and supporting information
· Log audit findings and track corrective actions
· Chase suppliers for updates and closure evidence
· Maintain accurate supplier oversight records
7. Evidence Collation for Audits & Approvals
· Compile evidence packs for internal and external audits
· Organise records for approvals and surveillance activity
· Support audit and approval readiness preparation
· Maintain structured filing systems
· Assist with record retrieval during audits
8. Hazard / Occurrence / SMS Administration
· Maintain hazard logs and occurrence records
· Track safety-related actions
· File evidence linked to incident follow-up
· Support Safety Management System (SMS) administration
9. KPI, Reporting & Meeting Support
· Update KPI trackers and dashboards
· Compile monthly summary data and management reports
· Maintain spreadsheet-based reporting packs
· Prepare meeting agendas and supporting papers
· Take meeting minutes and maintain action logs
· Follow up on agreed actions post-meetings
10. General Administration
· Provide general administrative support to the Quality & Compliance team
Experience:
· Extensive use of Microsoft Office, in particular Word and Excel
· Time spent in a Quality department
· An aviation or aerospace background would be hugely advantageous
· Time spent in an ISO9001 accredited company
