Teaching Assistant 2A with welfare duty - temporary
The Governing Body of Sabden Primary school are seeking to appoint a highly skilled, motivated and experienced teaching assistant to join our inspirational and dedicated team of staff.
As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the learning and development of our pupils. Your responsibilities will include:
- Assisting the class teacher in the delivery of engaging and effective lessons.
- Providing whole-class, one-to-one and/or small group support to all pupils.
- Being a positive role model within our school family.
- Supporting pupil behaviour and promoting a positive learning atmosphere.
The successful candidate will:
- Be committed to upholding our school values and ethos.
- Have an understanding of child development.
- Have experience in supporting learning and development of children and be willing to undertake additional training.
- Build strong and positive relationships with the children, class teacher and families.
- Enhance the learning opportunities for the children.
- Welfare Assistant duties are included within this roll.
- Work closely with the class teacher to ensure continuity of learning and quality first teaching.
- Have experience of working in an Upper Key Stage 2 Classroom.

This position is part time (20 hours per week), term time only, please note the salary quoted is full time equivalent. If successful, the salary received will be paid on a pro rata basis.

Essential Qualifications
- Maths and English GCSE or equivalent at Grade 4/C or above
Qualification appropriate to the post (or equivalent)

NVQ level 2 or above qualification appropriate to the post (or equivalent)
Essential Experience
- Experience of working with or caring for children in an Upper Key Stage 2 Class.
- Knowledge/skills/abilities in inclusive practice
- Ability to operate at a level of understanding and competence equivalent to NVQ Level 2 standard
- Ability to relate well to children
- Ability to work as part of a team
Good communication skills
