Provision open 50 weeks a year (closed for 2 weeks at Christmas). Holiday to be booked and can be taken at anytime during the year subject to approval (post is not term time only)

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Pre-School Assistant to support the delivery of high-quality early childhood education. The successful candidate will work closely with children, parents, and the teaching team to create a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment that promotes learning and development. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about childcare and early years education to develop their management and leadership skills within a supportive setting.

Responsibilities

Assist the leader in planning and implementing engaging activities suitable for preschool-aged children.
Support children's learning and development through personalised attention and encouragement.
Supervise children during playtime, mealtime, and outdoor activities to ensure safety at all times.
Foster positive behaviour and social skills among children through effective communication and guidance.
Maintain a clean, organised, and welcoming classroom environment that encourages exploration and learning.
Support with administrative tasks such as recording children's progress and communicating with parents or guardians.
Assist with organising outings or trips in accordance with organisational policies.
Contribute to the overall management of the preschool by supporting team members and participating in staff meetings.

Requirements

Previous experience working with children in a nursery or early childhood setting is highly desirable.
Strong management skills with the ability to organise activities effectively.
Demonstrated leadership qualities to support team collaboration and children's development.
Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
Knowledge of early childhood education principles and childcare regulations.
Ability to work well under pressure while maintaining a caring attitude towards children.
Valid driving licence is preferred for assisting with outings or transporting children when necessary.
Passion for working with young children and fostering their growth in a safe environment.
Minimum of Level 2 which meets the criteria for working in an Early Years setting and a willingness to work towards Level 3
