Overview
We are seeking a friendly and organised Part-time Shop Assistant to join our retail team. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals who are enthusiastic about customer service and retail operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting customers, managing stock, and ensuring the shop maintains a welcoming environment. The position is ideal for someone seeking flexible hours while gaining valuable retail experience.

Duties

Greeting customers warmly and providing excellent customer service
Assisting customers with product enquiries and offering recommendations
Managing stock levels, including replenishing shelves and organising displays
Operating the cash register, processing transactions accurately, and handling payments
Upselling products to maximise sales opportunities
Maintaining a clean and organised shop environment
Answering phone calls courteously and providing information about products or services
Supporting merchandising efforts by arranging products attractively
Managing time effectively to ensure all tasks are completed within shift hours
Demonstrating good phone etiquette when communicating with customers or suppliers

Qualifications

Strong communication skills and friendly demeanour
Basic maths skills for handling transactions and stock counts
Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail
Good time management abilities to prioritise tasks efficiently
Experience in merchandising or retail is advantageous but not essential
Ability to work well within a team and independently when required
Strong organisational skills to maintain an orderly shop environment
