Kitchen Porter – Inverness

Do you enjoy working as part of a busy team and take pride in maintaining a clean and organised environment? We’re looking for a friendly, reliable Kitchen Porter to join our restaurant team at our garden centre restaurant in Inverness.

Simpsons is one of the UK’s leading destination garden centres and a multi-award winner, including Destination Garden Centre of the Year in Scotland. As a family-run business, we pride ourselves on excellent customer service, quality food, and a welcoming atmosphere for both customers and staff.

The Role...

This position is offered on a zero hours contract, providing flexibility to work around your availability, with hours offered in line with business needs.

As a Kitchen Porter, you’ll play an essential role in supporting the smooth day-to-day running of our busy kitchen. You’ll help maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene while supporting the wider kitchen and restaurant team.

Key Responsibilities

Operate the pass-through dishwasher to ensure a steady supply of clean crockery and utensils
Clean pots, pans, cutlery, and kitchen equipment to a high standard
Maintain cleanliness and organisation within the kitchen and back-of-house areas
Support the kitchen team with general duties as required
Ensure all hygiene and health & safety standards are consistently met

What We’re Looking For

A reliable and hardworking team player
A flexible approach, with a willingness to support across the kitchen and restaurant
Good communication skills
A strong focus on cleanliness and hygiene standards
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
Previous experience in a busy kitchen environment is advantageous but not essential
