Full job description

About the Role

We are seeking an organised and detail-oriented Document Controller to join our Design Department within a leading façade subcontractor. You will play a key role in managing design documentation, supporting project delivery, and ensuring accurate control of drawings, submissions, and records across multiple projects.

Key Responsibilities

Document Control

Upload, download, file, and manage internal and external drawings, reports, and specifications
Maintain accurate document registers and track approvals and revisions
Distribute comments to the design team and monitor responses
Prepare and issue technical submissions including RFIs, calculations, samples, and reports
Request quotations from external consultants

Design Coordination (DPR & Systems)

Support the Design Manager in maintaining Design Progress Reports (DPR)
Track delivery dates, supplier details, and order information
Use systems such as Connect and SharePoint to ensure accurate data linking between schedules and orders

Site & Project Support

Compile and issue site packs using up-to-date design and schedule information
Maintain registers for issued and revised documents
Liaise with site teams regarding delivery requirements and chase delivery notes

O&M Documentation

Coordinate with the main contractor to confirm O&M requirements
Compile, manage, and submit O&M manuals via required portals
Update documentation throughout project lifecycle

About You

Previous experience as a Document Controller in construction (façade experience desirable)
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
Experience managing design documentation and submittals
Proficient in Microsoft Office and systems such as SharePoint / Aconex / Asite / Connect
Able to manage multiple deadlines and communicate effectively with internal and external teams
