About the Role

As an Early Years Childcare Practitioner, you will help create a safe, stimulating and caring environment where children feel happy, confident and inspired to learn. Working alongside our friendly team, you will support children's individual development through play-based learning, meaningful interactions and high-quality care.

Key Responsibilities

Plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate activities that support children's physical, emotional, social and cognitive development.
Provide attentive care and supervision, ensuring children's safety and wellbeing at all times.
Build positive relationships with children, helping them develop confidence, independence and self-esteem.
Create a warm, inclusive and nurturing environment where every child feels valued and supported.
Observe, assess and record children's progress and achievements.
Communicate effectively with parents and carers, sharing information about children's development and daily experiences.
Work collaboratively with colleagues to provide outstanding care and education.
Support small group activities and contribute positively to the day-to-day running of the nursery.
Maintain high standards of health, safety and hygiene throughout the setting.
Assist with outings and visits where required, ensuring all safety procedures are followed.

What We're Looking For

A recognised childcare qualification, such as NVQ Level 2 or Level 3 in Early Years Childcare and Education (or equivalent).
Previous experience working within a nursery or early years setting.
A sound understanding of child development and the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
A caring, patient and enthusiastic approach to working with young children.
The ability to work well as part of a team and contribute to a positive nursery culture.
A commitment to ongoing professional development and delivering high-quality early years education.
